Hi, can anyone tell me if the crankshaft pulley bolt is a righthand or lefthand thread. The vehicle is a 1990 Fiat Ducato 2.4TD with an 8144:21 engine.

Many thanks for pointing me in that direction. A little bit concerned that this is not the same engine and I do not want to try to undo this bolt without being certain in which direction it needs to go.

May I suggest some caution here.

The crankshaft bolt (M20) on my 2.8JTD is normal right hand thread, as stated in clause 7 of Freespirit's guide on timing belt replacement.
