Hi Guys - New to this forum but I cannot find a solution anywhere on the web - can you help!. Using the key remote I can lock my Fiat 2008 Ducato Motorhome but cannot unlock it - I have changed the battery in the key fob and tried disconnecting the vehicle battery a number of times bo to no avail - is there a reset or re-sync to get the remote unlocking the vehicle ...HELP

If you can still lock, it suggests that the keyfob and the receiver in the vehicle are working OK. I wonder if it is just the unlock button on the keyfob which is faulty. Do you have another keyfob you can try ?

A replacement case is cheap. The existing circuit board can be installed into the new case and a new key blade can be cut by an auto locksmiths

Take your remote to a good autolocksmith who will check all buttons for a signal.

We dont charge for this. Takes 2 mins.

It is likely that you will also need to remove the old and solder on a new micro switch under the press button.

I think these are the correct ones? I recently did a Corsa key - new case and micro switches. Fiddly job with a soldering iron but it got the lock cycle working.

Its quite common for remote control buttons to fail due to corrosion or dirt on the contacts - the voltage and current is so tiny they have to be perfectly clean.
(so higher end electronics have gold plated contacts) If you can take it apart you can usually get them working by cleaning the contacts with a white rubber - like you use to rub out pencil marks on paper.

Had the fob checked and all is working correctly - but I still have the same problem and i notice that I cannot unlock the van using the lock/unlock buttons on the dash - thanks for the advice though guys

Might need a proxi alignment.
