Dear Members

The injection pump of my Hymer B654 - 2.8 JTD engine - YOC 2001 - leaks and need to be replaced.

Doing so a lot of stuff has to be removed: timing belt, etc. Hence, it is the right time to replace the timing belt set as well. I ordered already the injection pump and timing belt set, which I have replaced 3 times before.

As the motor has 150.000km and the water pump has never been replaced, I also feel that it is the right time to replace the pump as well. However, due to the compactness of the motor compartment, it is for me impossible to see which brand of water pump is installed.

Searching for a replacement pump I see +50 different suppliers with slightly different shapes of pumps. Are all those pumps 100% compatible with the original installed and will they fit without modifications.

As replacing a leaking 2.8 JTD water pump is a major job, I would go for a well know brand like INA # 538046910 or SKF VKPC 82652.
Due to time constraints, I am obliged to have all spare parts on hand before I carry out the revision. Any advice if those pumps or any other quality pump would fit, without modifications, is welcome.

Thanking you in advance

Water pump is not a big job on those due to location and is driven by the alternator belt rather than timing belt so they are not routinely replace with timing belt. They are also very reliable so if you are replacing it I would agree with fitting a good quality branded parts as the Chinese ****e that's around now could easily be a downgrade on your existing pump.
