Hi all
I am wondering where I can get my hands on a MY2020 workshop manual?
Also interested in exploded views and part numbers.
It is for a 290.5g5.7 (L2H2 140hk Automatic)
Thanks:)

If you are a qualifying motor trade business you can subscribe to the online technical documentation from Fiat at around 2000 euros per year or 5 euros per hour. Otherwise the nearest comprehensive documentation you will find is the older eLearn for the X250 Ducato that was published before Fiat restricted access to workshop information.

You can download the eLearn manual from this site. There are a lot of similarities between the X250 and the current X290 mechanically, but it won't cover the latest engines or the M40 and new automatic gearboxes for instance.

For parts numbers and diagrams, have a look here: https://www.pekidi.com/navi?FORCED=TRUE&COUNTRY=1&LANGUAGE=3&GUI_LANG=3&SAVE_PARAM=LANGUAGE

or: https://fiat-pro.7zap.com/en/d06/4y/

Thanks for the nice links.
Unfortunate that Fiat cancelled workshop support.

All manufacturers are going the same way. European emission related legislation wants to restrict vehicle maintenance and repairs to commercial workshops, and it's due to be tightened up even further in the next few years.

In the US, they have "right to repair" legislation, and the manufacturers have to allow vehicle owners access to their repair information (for a reasonable cost).

The key term is "independent operators". Most manufacturers require the applicant to be a VAT registered business in one of a number of specific automotive business areas and will require copies of letterheads, VAT registration and other documents before they will grant access, Fiat included.

That complies with block exemption and anti-competition regulations, but effectively prevents access by the vehicle owner.

There are currently new regulations at the proposal stage which aim to restrict access to the EOBD port to prevent unauthorised software modifications and restrict independent operators to reading DTCs only, unless they connect through the vehicle manufacturer's dedicated portal.

Not with Tesla they don't allow anyone but them to work on the vehicles even as far as banning the car from super charger access for cars that have been repaired by third party's

I suspect they can probably quote overriding health and safety issues for electric vehicles.

On one of the courses I went on with an EV manufacturer, the head of EV engineering who instructed us had suffered permanent facial burns from a flashback whilst toggling the safety isolation switch in one of their vehicles. The list of safety equipment required to work on them was long and substantial. He hadn't bothered with the full face visor shield and helmet on that occasion because he'd operated the same switch on numerous previous occasions without incident.

But try getting any access to repair information from Volvo for instance, in Europe. You have to run the application directly from a server in Gothenburg, and you stand zero chance of getting on the system unless you've satisfied them that you meet the professional repairer requirements. In the US, you just have to be breathing and have a pulse, be capable of creating an account on a computer and giving them your credit card details
