I've noticed that one of the front shocks on my Ducato 2007 2.2 is leaking oil. I've sourced a replacement pair. There's a choice of oil filled or gas, any suggestions?

They are both oil filled just the gas one keep the oil under pressure to prevent foaming of the oil e.g. over bad terrain. A good gas shock will generally be significantly more expensive, if they are the same price you can assume that it's not a great gas shock. Gas can also make for a harsh ride compared to oil over good paved roads.

Thanks for your response. Good to know. Got a pair ordered (oil) getting fitted on the weekend. Was hoping to do it myself..but looks a bit of a job getting to the top of the unit. Leave it to the pro this time.

Yeah its a pain to do with old fashioned spring compressors and top nut it hard to tighten without pass through sockets or an impact so probably best.
