It seems there are 2 types of front shock absorber for the Ducato - one with a 25mm diameter top, and one with a 28mm. I _believe_ the larger may just be for the Maxi chassis, and I don't _think_ I have one of those. I'm trying to source the parts before talking my Hymer motorhome based on a 1997 230 chassis to a mechanic friend for attention.

So ...
a) can anyone confirm that the '97 used 25mm shocks and nothing else?
b) when was the Maxi chassis introduced?
c) does the Maxi take a 28mm and nothing else?
d) if I did end up with the wrong type, could it be made to fit (perhaps by swapping the top mounting ring)?

Er, why not jack the vehicle up so the wheel hangs, and measure the exposed shaft?
