Problem with 2.3jtd ! 2005

For example - engine starts up in morning from cold, no problem, has always been a good starter!
then travelled 70 miles all ok, get to destination turn engine of, then turn engine on, no start engine refuses to restart just turns over!
I then have to wait up to a hour & then it will restart as normal!!
Or I can disconnect battery for 20 mins or so reconnect battery & off we go again.
Any help please.

Might be worth checking your glowplug relay. Had a similar issue on a 3 litre and was told that, even when hot, the glowplugs must operate to enable start. A new relay and all was well.

Leakoff test on injectors when hot, expansion can increase clearances and leakage.

If its heat soak related to the crank sensor spray the sensor with freezer spray to see if will start.

Crank sensor is about £25 and takes 10 minutes to fit, I had the same problems with engine wouldn't restart after a run unless left for 30 minutes or so.
It eventually started cutting out when being driven so I just changed the crank sensor and the problem was cured.

I had that too on a Renault Laguna. very easy fix. IIRC diagnostic said words to effect of 'no signal to injectors', or such like. Not sure where it is on yours, but as noted above, cooling spray would help especially if it works, and you repeat the test a couple of times with same result.
