Hi folks. I’ve got an X250 Ducato 2.3 based motorhome with 40,000 miles. Recently the steering has started pulling to the left slightly and I have a slight steering judder when taking slow tight turns. I’ve also noticed a slight leak from the right rack gaiter and a corresponding drop in fluid level.
I’m considering removing the steering rack myself as an ‘experienced’ home mechanic, and having it rebuilt.
My question relates specifically to the removal process. Has anyone undertaken this? Does it require dropping the front subframe? The access looks quite tight.
