Hi all,

First thread from a newbie. I’m on holiday in France in my 2016 Ducati based motorhome. While travelling between sites earlier this week, I got the “check fuel filter” message and a warning light - the tank he dropped to around a quarter of a tank. I continued the 15 miles to the site and looked at the fuel filter - I could feel a drain underneath, so took a few pics with my camera phone. There appears to be a drain on the bottom of the bowl, of which a portion near the top is a hexagon. However, looking at the bowl, there is a casting line running down it which continues onto the drain - this makes me think it may all be one piece. Because of this, I decided to try gently turning the hexagon part with a spanner - unfortunately, the only spanner’s I have are 8 and 10mm, which are tool small/big.

The van was left stood for 3 days, started it up this morning and there was no message or warning light. Filled up at a Total garage (not supermarket fuel) and was message/warning free for another 60+ miles/1.5 hours of mixed driving, when the light/message appeared again.

Therefore, can anyone please tell me how to drain the filter - it’s the Mopar alloy bodied type? I’m due to set off for the ferry port early tomorrow morning.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
