i have a fiat rapido 696f no multi function on steering wheel which is strange, if there is a way to upgrade to a multifunction one pleaeeese tell me how i've read stuff to do with wiring loom,canbus,reprogramming,ect. if i can't go down that route what other options have i got to control radio from steering wheel is there any aftermarket stuff i can buy thanks guys and gals

Presume X250 or X290? It's the base vehicle that's important, not the MH body


Are you saying you don't have a multifunction steering wheel, or you have a MF wheel but the buttons don't do anything?


What radio is fitted? Fiat VP1/VP2 or aftermarket?

sorry new to this, i don't have controls on steering wheel rapido put kenwood head units in its a Kenwood DNR4190DABS, it's a 2019 model, moho i mean. i just need to find out if i can do anything to sort this thanks for your help

Then AFAIK the thread rayc linked to is likely to be your only way forward. The fact that Rapido fit an aftermarket radio indicates that the cab was ordered with aftermarket radio prep option. As such, just about everything needed to install communication between the steering wheel buttons and Fiat radio (which is integrated into the CANbus) will not be present on your vehicle.

Maybe talk to a few automotive radio installers. Some may have an idea of an aftermarket solution.

Installation Method:
1.Remove the DVD navigation.

Sorry, I have no idea. It looks a bit of a bodge to me. I fitted a cheap Chinese remote control unit to my hydraulic lift pump motor and it works fine, but you never can tell until you try it.

Has your radio unit got the facility to integrate with steering wheel controls? No point in fitting the buttons if the radio hasn't got connections for the receiver at the other end.
