Hi! everyone. I have 2013 Ducato motorhome with 6 speeds confortmatic. Serious trouble happened during run on transmission. Suddenly no torque transfered with massage of "Check transmission. See instruction manual " and Transmission oil temp. high alarm symbol. Shift position show Neutral and never change to AUTO or Manual. Once I stop and move shift lever between N to Auto or Manual again but shift position aiways stay N.

When ignition off and start engine again, it could be run normaly.
Dealer technician told me that this may be caused by any additional electronic devices like navigation system or OBD scanner influenced to ECU and remove them.

If you have similar trouble and know the root cause, give me advice. Thank you.

No dealer can suspect why your comfort matic gearbox faulty, 1st thing Any fiat dealer would do is plug the wi tech Diagnostic tool onto your vehicle and read fault code stored in Tcm ,obd scanner influenced to ecu?so you drive around with code reader plugged onto obd? Can’t imagine dealer saying that

Thanks whine0 Additional information below.
After few times similer trouble occrerd, dealer checked fault code. Dealer did not inform me a detail but transmission related. So Dealer cahnged a solenoid valve which support hydraulic system for the gearbox. After that I put OBD scanner on the vehicle. About 150km running the trouble I mentioned first post occured. At that time I check fault code soon, but no code recorded. Dealer technician told me that remove OBD scanner, then trouble was clear. I have no time to investgate furthermore. Dealer may have information from another case which was caused by navigation system.

# Hothide, just posted my exact same problem. Reading with dealer readout device the Obd2 transmission fault code gave me message p0905 and p 0914.
However I also drove with a OBD/ bluetooth readout connector !!!!!!
Ik now take it out and will see !?

A known problem with the early gearbox was a short wiring harness to the gearbox. A friend had a new gearbox fitted only to find out after it was a faulty harness.

Hi everyone. recent situation like this.
obd scanner and speed pulse connection for navigation were removed but problems has recurrent. So this cause is eliminated.
I’m looking for others such as sensors, wire harness on the gearbox. I suspect electrical problem because problems happened sporadic and always reset by ignition off.
Any possibility suggestions are highly appropriate.

I have a 2017 fiat Ducato automatic/manual..some days the truck starts and drives perfect..I would then switch it off and go for restarts and it comes up on display that gear selection not possible..check owners manual..however switch on/off a few times and try it and it sorts it’s self out..any ideas??

Hello, I am owner of 2012 3 litre with confortmatic. After several strange moments with the message “laat controleren versnellingsbak” (Check transmission) I found out that it is a relay that’s causing this message. You can’t find it via obd.

The text below is from the “M40 Robotized Gearbox teaching guide”:
Wake upA system function that allows the pressure in the hydraulic circuit to be increased before the instrument panel is switched on; it is activated when the door is opened When the door is opened, the TCU wakes up and the pump is activated if hydraulic circuit pressure is insufficient. Pump inactivation is associated with sufficient pressure level in the circuit (the pressure must be lower than the pump activation pressure threshold for the pump to be activated) or may be due to a fault (e.g. door switch operating failure, a relay or pump fuse fault etc.).

Finding the relay took most of my time. It’s in the engine compartment on the outside of the controlbox. On my car there are two relays that are mounted on the upper side when the cover is removed. It’s a 12V 50A relay.

The problems are caused by burned contacts. After replacing it with a new one all problems are gone (cost only € 10,-)

And don’t forget to change the hydraulic oil and the dot4 fluid on the gearchange mechanism
