Hi everyone I'm hoping someone can help me with an intermittent problem I have on my 2013 multijet 130. Every so often the engine seems to cut out for a second followed by a cloud of bluey/white smoke and then it recovers and drives fine for a while. I have also noticed that I have a small amount of black smoke all the time whilst driving. After the event with the engine cutting out sometimes the engine warning light comes on. I've plugged in my OBD which is saying the fault is with the fuel pressure regulator but the engine warning light doesn't always come on and also when it does the engine seems to go in to "limp" mode and although the engine revs pick up the engine has no power.
I was going to change the fuel pressure regulator but can't find where to locate it. Can anyone help and how difficult a job is it.
One other thing the EGR valve was sticking (fault code on OBD) so I want to take it apart to clean it but again can't find where it is located.
Any advise would be welcome
Thanks

Good morning, I have the exact same fault with my 130. Did you ever find the location of the regulator? I have searched google etc but no luck..

This is the procedure from eLearn. Be very careful that you have sufficient support on the fuel rail when attempting to unscrew the sensor. Although Fiat describe unscrewing it in situ, Iveco recommend removing the complete fuel rail and securing it on a bench before attempting to unfasten the sensor.

After replacement, the Pressure Sensor Replacement procedure should be run from MultiEcuScan to reconfigure the engine control unit.

I may be wrong but I think it is screwed into the end of the fuel rail. In the attached video it is where the chip tuning box is plugged in

It is item 6 on page 3 of the pdf

It appears I have got confused between the fuel pressure regulator mounted on the HP pump, and the pressure sensor mounted on the end of the common rail.

If you examine the pages of eLearn to which I linked, you will see the pressure regulator as item 4 on page 1, item 9 on page 2, and item 15 on page 3.

Take care.

Hi and thank you for your advice, located the regulator on the fuel pump! Tested and it's not that so now going to run a pressure diagnostic to see if it's the injectors or pump.. fingers crossed.
