Well after last years problems taking nearly 4 months to be sorted out the Ducato as decided to throw its toys out of the pram again

it started with the dab radio randomly switching off and cycling through menus and then freezing then yesterday the EML light came on after restarting shortly followed by the DPF light then into limp mode as i was only a few miles away from the dealer i called in for them to look at it
They found 2 faults both for short circuits one stopping the DPF regen and the other related to the throttle valve they have called me back saying they can't find anything and that its going to be another long winded affair and have opened a technical issue with FIAT
so we are currently waiting for the Fiat boffs to come up with a plan of attack of try this first if that don't work try this with the normal 2 day delay in response time and getting the parts delivered

As anyone had the same faults

Regards Paul

If you suddenly get multiple faults they could well have a common cause. I'd be inclined to carefully check all the connections both from and to the battery, starter motor etc if only to eliminate the obvious. Also check any under-bonnet looms for the chafing problem, though that shouldn't occur on a nearly new van.

The trouble with sophisticated diagnostic scanners is that garages place too much faith in the results being presented, without thinking of alternatives.

Not again! Bloody hell, they ought to buy it back off you for what you paid, plus any repairs and parts too, if they have any business integrity. Shame on them.
The very least to loan you an acceptable substitiute (or more likely hire costs) and damn well pull the thing apart to the last bolt, nut and connector and make double damn sure it is permanently fixed before sending it back!!
Hope you get a quick and long lasting result mate.

Throttle valve isn’t that bad to remove, I had error/limp mode, rac came out 5 hours later, by that time it was stone cold and no errors typically! Ordered new throttle valve, looked new inside, but on removing electrical connector, it was wet inside, and pins corroding, cleaned as best I could with electrical contact cleaner spray, fitted new body and white spray greased the connector to hopefully reduce the chance of moisture getting in again (this was after a week of heavy rain) so far so good,

Im also having trouble with 2.3 fiat ducato 2017 When i change gear and apply the throttle it gives a bump like an engine mounting is gone and the engine is moving but the gearbox makes a clunk also

Well Fiat called yesterday said they have found water ingress into the loom

First thing that said have you power washed the engine bay
Reply No why would i do that
Fiats reply well then it must be the bonnet protector you have fitted its breaking the seal on the bonnet and letting water in
Reply Do you really think i'm that thick or stupid there isn't any seal on the bonnet and another thing the bonnet closes as it should the shut lines are as it was before it was fitted

They also told me it was out of warranty even though its not 2 years old

Fiat warranty 3 years 120k miles or 2 years unlimited milage

they asked me where i got that information from and could i send them the information

My Reply OFF YOUR FOOKING WEBSITE YOU PRICK then put the phone down

day think a judge would go lenient on men if i go full cage fighter on them

Just collected the Ducato from the dealers after the excuses that i may of caused the water ingress by power washing the engine and fitting a bonnet protector they have fixed the corroded part of the wiring loom which was the connector pins for the throttle valve with a special repair kit from FIAT looks like this is going to be a problem in the future for this model as Rolopolo suggested it may be wise to keep an eye on it a apply white grease to impede water ingress
