Hi,

I’m having difficulty identifying a fault on a Ducato, 11 plate.

The van cuts once started intermittently or may start and misfire/won’t rev up with a fan in the engine bay coming on.

The fault code refers to a fault with a sensor reference voltage circuit C.

I’ve so far replaced the crank sensor and pinned the wires from plug to ecu for the fuel regulator, crank sensor and cam sensor.

I’m using Delphi ds150, can’t really see any live data which makes it difficult.

Has anyone experienced this before? Or can anyone offer any advice?

Kind regards
Adam

Cheers bud, did see this already, gave them a call today and they do have a test procedure apparently so that’s reassuring if anyone else has a query with this fault.

Thanks for the reply

Kind regards

HI i have same issue my car is Fiat Ducato 2.3 Mjet 130HP
With Magnetti MArelli MJD 8F3 ecu

Car is after small crash and shows fault:
P0697-49 Fault that is:
" Sensor Reference Voltage C Circuit"

We found that the voltage that goes to some sensors from ecu drops down from 5V to 2.5V when we connect MAF sensor.

But MAF sensor is new and all same. I am going to change ECU but please first inform me how did you solved an issue?

I'm having exactly the same problem as you, kubuswujo. Did you figure out the problem? Anyone have a wiring diagram/pinout for this ECU (MJD 8F3)?

Good morning, Help needed.
i have the same problem P0697 i have checked all sorts and still my engine warning light appears and sometimes when starting the engine will die. engine fan is running high too. the motorhome is 2015. can anyone help as I'm totally lost.
best wishes

This fault is caused by an issue on the ecu 5v reference circuit.
The ecu provides a 5v reference to the various sensors on and around the engine, when one of these sensors shorts out it pulls This 5v reference down to earth which then causes various issues for the other sensors on this circuit and logs a p0697 fault code.
The best way to fault find this is either to find a wiring diagram showing all the other sensors on this circuit and unplug them 1 by 1 until the issue resolves or to look at live data on diagnostics and see what all the sensors are doing and look for any with odd readings.
The most common issue on the ducato causing this problem is the dpf differential pressure sensor shorting out internally. Unplug this and go for a short drive. See if your issue is resolved.
