I asked a while ago about lumpy running on my duccato.
Its ongoing.
Only way i can descibe it is it sometimes doesnt want to rev smokes a lot and lumpy.
As if its blocked up somewhere.
After a short while it runs fine again.
Im thinking maybe a blocked egr?
I have no idea where to find it though as its pretty newish to me and i dont know my way around it.
Any thoughts.advice would be appreciated.

From previous posts on van/campervan forums I think they’re normally front right of the engine, need to remove grill and other bits of plastic depending on model.
Is the engine management light on? People also talk about blocking the egr valve off of causing problems, but not time could be challenging re exhaust readings

More likely that egr is jammed slightly open, allowing exhaust gases to enter inlet. This reduces oxygen content of inlet charge which in turn prevents proper combustion - black smoke and lumpy.

Will a carbon clean help?
Like i say its only now and again it happens.
Difficult to rev.then slowly over a few mins gets better.
I also read these are very dirty engines and the throttle body gets clogged up?
I hate messing with mechanical stuff/fault finding.

My previous post suggested that a partially open egr would be more likely than a blocked one. HOWEVER, I would suggest that it would be better to scan the computer to see if any faults are showing rather than making any assumptions of what the fault is. There are just so many sensors etc that can go wrong. One can chase one's tail for ever and cost substantial money when making guesses.

Would do no harm to put a can of forte diesel conditioner in the tank just before a diesel fill

Check the air hoses round the engine for splits and their couplings, especially the big pipe running front left to the throttle body and so on.

If it was hoses wouldnt it run poor all the time?
It happend again today
Did a very short trip fine.
Next start was lumpy as anything.clouds of black smoke and soot marks on floor.
Then gradualy got better over a few mins.
Next start was perfect again.
