Hi guys I’m looking for a how to on a cambelt change I’ve done quite a few belts before but never without a how to, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hi. not quite sure if this will help the 2.5 normally aspirated engine is the IVECO 8140-67 indirect injection . I have the 2.5tdi which I recently had timing kit fitted and my mechanic got the kit from one off the local motor factors I think it was EURO CAR PARTS but not 100% unfortunately I cant contact him at the moment. you can buy kits on EBAY currently approx.£60. if you cant get manual you could always try the old method of slicing the present belt long ways then slide new belt in line with the half that is left but if fitting new kit this may prove difficult. anyway good luck. just researched GATES KITS AND I NOTICE THAT THEIR COMPLETE KITS COME WITH FULL FITTING INSTRUCTIONS so may be worth giving them a phone call

apart from very limited access, you will find that the belt tensioner is fitted into a housing on the water pump, and it sticks solid( Well it was on my 1999),so pump has to come off (usually) so you can knock it out. So budget for new pump. Should fit one anyway as its the same work to do it as the belt. Not an easy job took two of us all day. also if you do it make sure new pump is fully torqued before lifting engine back into position there is no access to bolts once engine and covers are back on so if a leak all back to start. Was quoted 300 labour by motorhome dealer if I was to do another it would go to them.
