Hi Guys,
any tips on how to get the front wheel bearing outer races out of the hub carrier? Inners and drive flange came out ok but I can't see an obvious way to get the outers out.
TIA.

You need a hydraulic press from the back or puller from the front or if desperation hits and you're in the middle of the outback a dremel and chisel but you still need to press new one back in so easier to take off the hub carrier and bring it to someone.

Going to get the roofing torch out, heat it up, pop the inner race back in and hope my 6 ton press is up to the job.

Hi Torq.

Glad to see that you changed the wheel bearing OK.
My 2006 (244) model must be a bit different than yours. You say that the inner races came out OK.
On my model there is a circlip holding the inner race in, and as the circlip is wider than the inner race, I had to push the hub through both inner races, to get to the circlip. I made a bit of a jig, from old rusty steel, and only just managed to do the job with a 32 tonne jack. I twisted the jig, as I had to use a extra length handle. Next time I will make a heavier jig, and use a 50 tonne jack.
For anyone wanting to know the details.

Below is a picture of the jig after I had finished the job, with the extra large handle, with the number of the bearing kit, 4890 on the box
