Hi guys need some help in finding where the heater blower resistor is located in the 1994 Ducato , can anyone point me in right direction

Hi. I can't tell you exactly, but these resistors are most commonly mounted on the cab side of the bulkhead within the heater trunking as they rely on being cooled by the airflow. Typically they have a plate a couple of inches square which mounts through a hole in the side of the trunking with two screws. They will have several connections and wires on the outer side, and the resistor elements themselves on the inside. Suggest you lie upside down in the cab and peer up under the dash with a torch. You might need to take off some trim and/or glovebox to get access.

Get down on the cab floor under the heater cowl and look for the oval lozenge shaped part, secured by two screws, under the heater body/cowling next to the fan blower motor

Take the screws out, withdraw the thermal resistor, brush it CAREFULLY, to remove any dust/crud, and then.........now here's the good bit that is my big secret that I first shared here many years ago now.......put it in a plastic bag and just pop it in your house freezer for 24 hours. Really.

Whilst it's out, have a good ferret round inside whatever parts of the inside of the cowling you can reach to clear crud, dead leaves etc.

The next day, replace the resistor and bingo, fan speeds 1 to 3 should work once again.

That'll be £380 plus VAT from a Fiat garage, or totally free (apart from the big drink you're gonna buy me) to do it yourself.

Thanks guys I’ll check it out over weekend I’ll keep you posted on progress?

Ps, forgot to mention it might take more than that as last week smoke came out of the center dash air vent so I’m thinking the resistor has melted the connection or loom and when fan is switched on it’s causing a short so I might have more trouble we will see
