Technical Fiat Ducato - Driveway Ornament :-(

Hi Chris,
I will try and get a picture, but the end of the cable is approx. 1 cm square. There are 3 from the battery terminal, a fat one to below the battery, one to a connection on the bulkhead and the mystery one.

Hope to get a picture soon.

Many thanks,
Cheryl

Thanks again Goggs,

I have just got the battery off and was going to disconnect the positive cables to see if I could get a batter fit on the positive pole, when I noticed a loose lead. It comes from the + terminal and has a rectangular plug on the end of it, but I can't where it connects to. There isn't an empty socket that I can see.

Any ideas please?

Many thanks,
Ceryl

A lot of vehicles ordered for motorhome conversion come with an additional lead for additional battery connection, but it's rarely used by converters and just left loose alongside the vehicle battery in the battery box.

Hello again,
Having connected the battery using jump leads, and still no dash lights, it is almost certainly the main fuse.
The picture below shows z black box, with the cover removed.
Could this be the connections to the fuse?
It is difficult to get at so don't want to undo anything until I know.
Can anyone advise please?
Many thanks,
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I have the same vehicle and managed to get a repair manual from ( eMANUEALONLINE.COM ) @ £17.99. Hope this helps as it has all electrical items at the back and the rest covers everything ells . Best regards

There is a manual paperback that you can get the e-mail address from the admin of the club.

Hi Both,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you, but even after getting someone to look at I, I am still no furth4r forward.

I have found a wiring diagrm for the camper and the only fuses I can find are part of that circuit.

I have found out it is 2.8 idTD not an LTD and the number 230 is on the logout.

Can anyone shed any nw light on my problem. To remind you absolutely nothing when I turn the ignition key. Battery at 12.7 volts. Showing OK on the Zig Unit in the camper.

One of the 3 leads is loose. Plleqse see history for any further information or ask.

Grateful for any tips on solving, or the location of a manual for the model.
Is is a 1999 and has 2.8 idTDon the side of the cab.

Many thanks in advance
Cheryl

The only thing I can think of is to get a 12v test meter on the job under the bonnet. Where cable comes from battery and goes into one of those plastic boxes/fuse units, test output of all other cables coming out or going somewhere else. They should be 12v of course. Relays are more a challenge but try connectors and fuses first.

Hi Goggs,
Thanks for tip. I will see what the meter says.
I have ordered a manual from Peter Russek.
It covers 2.5 and 2.8 Litres from 1994 to 2001.
I hope it's the one and reveals all.

I am really hoping to sort this myself, see it as a challenge, :)
but I may have to get an Autoelectrician in, if all else fails. :-(

Thanks to all for your help so far, I will keep you posted.

Regards,
Cheryl
