I have a 1995 2.5tdi lhd camper and I am trying to find out how to access my tank fuel pump to replace it.

Doesnt have one tgere is a sender/ pickup unit with a strainer in the tank.

I saw that alright but how does the fuel get pumped from the tank.I tried to start the camper after been laid up for 2 months and there seemed to be a fuel issue.Took the outlet tube off the fuel filter and turned over the engine and no fuel came out.Any suggestions

Its sucked out of the tank by the pump if you disconnect anything or have any air leak it drains back to the tank, if you're stuck you can loosen an injector pipe and it will prime fairly quickly when cranking. Or fit a priming bulb though it very hard to get one that isn't utter ****e nowadays

If you have a scrappie near you the mid 90s peugeot 306, 406 etc had decent primer bulbs.

If you find it losing prime over a short time its often the injector return hoses are perished / cracked

Got it going today.problem with the 12volt supply to the fuel pump solenoid.just have to do a bit of rewiring.Thanks for all your help.
