Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum. I have a Motorhome on a Ducato engine and chassis. I’ve driven down to Spain and the engine has developed an intermittent noise that can best be described as a high pitched whistling or whirring that changes pitch with engine revs. The engine has only done 3500 miles. Any suggestions as to what might be causing the noise would be most welcome. Thank you

Hi you start engine ,noise heard and whistle until hi revs first thought you think turbo ?but it’s not it’s the auxiliary belt idler bearing some seem to tight when you remove and check them how do I know this ? Iv changed change good few now for this noise Part is £45 obviously under warranty if you find dealer out there ,it’s not worn or excessive play just to tight if your asking will it get me back to Blighty I’ll say yes I’d drive it back with cupboards full of Spanish heat! Idler bearing,,, not tensioner

Thanks - hopefully we’ll get home OK - not much heat here either!
