Hi,
Does anyone’s dab/sat nav system have liver services? ( live Traffic info)?
Never used mine in the year I’ve had it, apart from updating the preinstalled 2014 to 2015!! Map, but as the yearly map update I stupidly purchased is about to run out I thought I’d at least update the map,
Dealer said (as usual to try and sell it) it does have live traffic, obviously mine doesn’t,

Just wondering if anyone’s does, as the menu suggests it should or could have

Hi rolopolo
Have a look on the Fiat eLum site, it has 6 different supplements covering the different Uconnect radios in the 290 models. Maybe one of these will tell you.
Click on - month/year manufactured then supplements, then Communication/Entertainment there are 6 different model Uconnect manuals listed as well as the Owners Manual.

Cheers
In the Uconnect 5" Radio Nav manual on page 54 it refers to live traffic updates where publicly available which is the same model fitted to our X290 which is also in our hard copy manual supplied with the vehicle & also on page 54.

Does yours work? Mine never has, either in the UK or France, and from comments on various motorhome forums I frequent it seems to be the norm.

The nav part of the VP"/uConnect is the most basic, pared down version that Fiat could get away with. To be fair, I was aware of that when I specced it, but I use a separately mounted Garmin satnav and ordered the uConnect mainly for the built-in reversing camera monitor.

I use a separate tomtom as well, hence not using the uconnect one, prefer more in my eye line than off to the side view,
Reckon I was fobbed off along the usual sales pitch, more cheesed with the crap DAB reception, have fitted a powered amplified roof mounted dab aerial (had one on old x250 connected to kenwood head unit and never had drop out unless in mountains up in Scotland or wales,

It’s better than standard aerial but still drops out too often,
My 9year old pure Highway screen mounted dab receiver with a mag mount aerial picks up more channels and never drops.

Agreed though on the reverse camera screen although mines an aftermarket camera connected to uconnect unit, as the van didn’t have one,
Cheers

Hi
The Uconnect 5" Radio Nav fitted to the Oz versions don't (or didn't) come with Australian Maps installed. this has apparently gone on for years back to the X250 models with Fiat promising they were getting an Oz map update.
We had our X290 delivered in March this year still no Australian maps after we got ours there was finally a Oz map update, some friends have since had theirs done so I will wait until I see whether it is worth it first. In the meantime they supplied a separate Tom Tom GPS, I still haven't familiarized myself with all the Radio, phone or the instruments settings.
As for live traffic reports bit difficult without the Oz maps!
So this unit is can be a built-in reversing camera monitor as well, any idea what sort of connection they supply for a reversing camera.
Cheers

The above link is the camera (or same as what’s fitted) that my dealer sourced, without ripping dash apart to follow the loom, the connections either connect to the harness going to head unit or there’s a special harness that goes between camera wires and hu

As there’s no phono (yellow plugs) going direct into hu

I only pulled radio far enough out to swap over dab aerial wires and didn’t pay attention to anything else I’m afraid
