Managed to pull unit out today

Removed DAB fakra connector, stuck £15 Halfords mag mount on roof and temp fitted the smb mag mount into fakra connector on unit,
Slotted unit in as far as it goes,

Off on run midlands to Manchester this afternoon

If my fave stations don't drop out all the time, a kinetic dra-6001 will be ordered and fakra-smb adaptor

But stations receiving all ok on driveway [emoji106]?

Update after run up to Manchester and back,
99.9% improvement [emoji106]?

Couple of drop outs mainly under motorway bridges or built up areas,
And those were for a second or two, not minutes or miles
