Another random question, noticed plenty of undertray kits on eBay, all listed up to 2014.

Anyone tried one on an x290 build? Fancy one for mine, anything to help protect the electrics and dump from corrosion
Cheers

I have a friend with a 2015 X290 Burstner [German] motorhome which has a full undertray fitted.

Do you know if it's factory fit mate? It is an option at ordering, but this ones from stock as it's 3-4 months to order a van.
Genuine bits will be loads of £ plus vat, my guess is the aftermarket ones will fit, but just throwing it out there to see if anyone's gambled :)

I do not know where it was fitted but I have other friends with the x290 which do not have it fitted. Perhaps a search of ebay.de may show something?

My guess is if not factory order, then it's one of the same kits that's on eBay

JUST CHANGING THE OIL ON MY 2016 2.3 ducato motorhome and its only got a partial underbelly cover/ bellypan , don't know whether or not there is supposed to be one or not any ideas?

Have just bought a 2015 van after having a 2007 one.

Have swapped the plastic cover / shields that go from under the bumper back to about the driveshaft. Will then refit the genuine metal sump guard which I had fitted on my old van.

All the holes line, up so looks as if everything is the same as the X250 vans.

Only point is that I have a nudge bar as well, and these are definately different, as the grille can not come out without the headlights, so the top mounting brackets are different.

Makes sense to keep things the same for production costs. But it is a FIAT !!!!

Unsure in the up to 2016 vans but the 2017 Euro 6 engine hangs down quite far, lower to the ground than the old 3.0, that's my perspective from briefly looking underneath, so unsure, not bothering for now, as thanks to a rather large bird of prey I've a rather large dent in the roof above drivers seat to have repaired :(((((

I have also a 2016 ducato motorhome & I raised the issue with Fiat but its not fitted to most ducatos coming to the UK so I bought a new set online & it seems that they have like a hexagon insert that pops into the passenger wishbone but you cant get it to fit from the top... I will be looking and a two part glue to secure them in as there are about three that will need to be done. I might just have another bash at it this weekend.

Most manufacturer's, not just Fiat, seem to think it makes more sense for production costs to delete whatever they can to save even fractions of a penny per vehicle. This has been going on to a lesser or greater extent since around the 2008-2009 financial crash.

Ford started deleting engine covers and the plastic trim caps that covered screws on door panels etc. on some models. Build quality of current BMWs is not a patch on what it used to be, etc.

Fiat are no better or worse in my experience.

meureire They look like rivnuts, If they are they need to be fitted by crushing them in situ to create a captive nut in a place that you can only access one side, like a blind rivet.
