I have a Fiat Ducato 2.5 Diesel 4 x 4 Chassis cab manual gear column change registered 1991 on the continent.
It has become a Hymer motor home.
The rear axle was leaking.
The local garage took out the 2 half shafts to replace the seals and ran away screaming.
I have take the shafts to various specialist axle repairers and not one can source the bearings and seals.
There are bearings at the ends and thick white plastic seals which have become worn.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this model and axles please.

I know of a place in Dublin Ireland that if you bring in the old bearing and oil seal they measure it up and 90% of the time have replacement on the shelf. I'm sure if you send them details will they be able to help you or if your mechanic can have the sizes sent over the guys could send the parts.

The company is Reliance bearing and gear company

Might be of some help to you. I use them for cars, vans, off road ATV's and everything in between. Fantastic service and prices too. Hopefully its of help to you.

Seals done, but still there is a whine.
The suggestion now is the differential.
Bearing in mind that this is 1991 4x4, does anyone know of who can repair differentials or where a replacement one can be found ??

How bad is it, why not drive on and see if it gets any worse. transits and sprinters go on for hundreds of thousands of miles with whining diffs with regular oil changes. The drive tube can sometimes amplify the sound making it sound worse than it really is.

The latest suggestion is to disconnect the differential and other stuff and just have front wheel drive.
Is this possible ??
Is it a good idea ??
