Hi, all my side marker lights 2007 x250 both sides have failed all other lights are OK I've not done anything to van that could have affected this just noticed that they aren't working. Took one off and it appears as if theres no bulb and needs a replacement light ? Any suggestions would be much appreciated Thanks

Is this a van or a motor home conversion? If a van then I believe the fuse is F58 (10A) in the central pillar fuse box i.e below the driver seat belt mount.

Thanks the side lights are working which this fuse is for I believe just the orange side markers that aren't (panel van conversion)

There is no actual fuse for the side lights, i.e. front and rear lights, as these work directly from the body computer. I believe the fuse in the side pillar fuse box is for amber side markers when it is a van / conversion.
If it is a motor home conversion then Fiat leave a 'side lights' on signal wire inside the door pillar which the converter uses as they see fit. My Rapido had a relay which fed the side markers whilst on my Adria the circuit is part of the Electroblok controller.

Sheer coincidence but the side marker lights and front high level marker lights (but not the rear high level marker lights) failed to illuminate yesterday on our 2015 coachbuilt motorhome.

I phoned a nearby dealer who advised over the phone to check the fuses in the pillar beside drivers seat (just as per RAYC). I pulled 3 fuses out one by one and pushed them back in and jiggled all the connectors and the 3 relays and hey presto the marker lights all illuminated.

Sorry not able to offer any more help.

Thanks for answers, I've removed panel at bottom of door pillar there are 2 fuses at bottom right both ok and one relay but apart from some large wires and a multi plug no other fuses it does say optional fuse box in the manual. I have removed fuses and disconnected wires and replaced. There doesn't appear to be any connection from the eletro block

What make / model is it? It is possible that the side markers are not Fiat but installed by the converter. On my Adria the side markers and high level lamps are fed from a circuit within the electroblok which is activated when side lights are on and have a dedicated fuse.

Been reading up a little and it's possible they where not a OEM fitment as vans under 6 mtrs so were not legally req. It's an Adria twin so will have another look around electro bloc tomorrow Thanks for the interest

Have checked all fuse's in and around electro blok that can be seen and all is in order. Actually I've pulled and checked every fuse on the van

Are you sure that the marker lamps are original i.e Adria fitted? I though they only fitted them on the Twin 640? In any event I would think that they are wired in a loop [spur without returning to the van]. Can you see where the run enters the inside and follow it? On all three of the X250's I have had it was into the drivers seat belt panel. I would also expect them to be LED so you would not see a bulb & holder in the fittings. They are definitely lamp fittings and not just reflectors???

No I'm not sure they where fitted by Adria I'm almost certain they are not fiat fitted as even new vans have none and I've checked pictures of Fiat vans of similar year and none have them. They are led lights not just reflectors as I've removed 2 to check if receiving power will have another look at door pillar when rain stops

There is a multi socket in the door pillar with a plug with only 2 wires coming out of it which become live when the ign is switched on they go to what look like a solenoid then theres 2 wires leaving this but if it's a solenoid there's no switching wires.

:confused:Just a random guess but is the 'solenoid' an isolating transformer (to prevent the LED lights affecting the body computer) working like a shaver socket does?

If so there should 12 volts output (or not!)

EDIT to add that it can't work like a transformer as it is a DC supply; I'll get my coat........

I asked about your problem on the facebook Adria page and got two responses neither which seems to fit your scenario. I guess it is time to trace the feed from the first lamp in the loop back into the interior.

Response 1. "On a twin - I presume it's the SL/SLX 6.4m van? They are Fiat factory fit so best try and get a Fiat wiring diagram." This fits with my understanding that only vans over 6m are fitted with them as standard.

Response 2. "Normally you will find a fuse for them on the electro block (or whichever electrical station you have)". This is how it is done on motorhome conversions.

No this van is under 6 mtrs so not fiat fit looking at fiat lights they have a bulb and these are leds.
Tracing the wires isn't really possible as after removing side trims they vanish into the van under the flooring which is why I asked about supply point.
As far as I can see their not required by law under 6 mtrs but have to work if fitted so an option may be to remove them and fit some reflectors to cover the holes.

Have checked the relay in the floor by the door pillar and its a hella 4rd 003 520 - 08 5 pin but only 4 wires now to find out its function 20/30 amp so possibly more attached than 6 led lights if they are and every thing else is working as it should

Tracer looks like a good idea thanks for that

The relay has 5 pins because there is a N(ormally)C(losed) contact that isn't used here. The NC contact can carry 20Amps, the NO contact can carry 30Amps.
If this relay supplies current to the led lights it is quite well possible it fails because there isn't enough load!

Relay contacts are usually made from a copper/nickel alloy that needs a minimum current to break the oxide film; 6 led lamps are not enough. Gold contacts would be better in this case, but that is not used in automotive products.

Make a small hole in the relay hood with a drill or hot soldering iron and apply some contact spray.

Hi I'd like to Thank Everyone for their help with my light problem which is now fixed after trying CDK's suggestion on my relay which cured the problem. I've now replaced the relay and all's still fine. Thanks everyone

Just to update now Aug 2019 these lites failed again remembering the last time I checked and replaced the solenoid to no avail. So lites have now been replaced with reflectors
