anyone have any info on fitting fog lamps to a ducato 2015 x290
seems the platics needs to be cut with a hole cutter..not a problem but there seems to be no way to fix the lamps, I know you can get led running lamps that fit in the bumper but i am really looking for halogen or hid as i want to use them for driving as apposed to other road users seeing me
spoke to a main fiat dealer and they told me i would need to change the bumper as the brackets are part of the bumper and not a separate part(n)
not worried about wiring onto the can bus as i will fit separate wiring
bought a set of lamps on ebay that are supposed to fit a 2015 with built in grill and they dont fit nowhere near and really not possible to cut them down and make them look right, having looked at a 250 model they are for this!
any ideas?

Hi
On our motorhome, with white painted bumpers, the circular grills were just clipped in. Needed good access from behind to unclip without breaking the clips though. The posts for the screws were also moulded into the back of the bumper.

I used lamps with Fiat No 51858824 which fit a number of Fiat cars as well. They look good with chrome rings fitted on the outside as embellishers.

I tried used Fiat wiring and switches but could not get any dealer to successfully program the Body computer. As last resort contacted Fiat Technical who said it couldn't be done unless the vehicle left the factory with a particular software module complied into the system - which mine didn't have. If anyone has been able to program the CanBus system to make fog lamps work I would dearly like to know. So your proposal of separate wiring and switch might be best (only) way to make them illuminate.

Cheers

thats the problem for me
if the bumper is painted the fog lamp space is just a cover with the fixings in the bumper, if its not painted there is no fixings in the bumper and the hole is sealed undrilled and has to be cut out with a hole cutter..seems crazy but thats fiat:bang:

We have a 2017 Pilote P650 which has a Ducato X290 chassis. Like MikeJJ's motorhome the grills are clipped in and there are mounting brackets behind for the fog lights. I bought multiecuscan, ELM 327 modified cable and yellow adapter to activate steering wheel controls, so no problem configuring front fog lights in the body computer. When I actuate front fog lights from multiecuscan I can hear a relay clicking.

There are two connectors hanging from the wiring loom under the driver's side headlight

but only one connector on the passenger's side

There are no volts in any of these when the front fog lights relay clicks, but I suppose it is not unreasonable that the connector at the relay end of the loom isn't connected. Is the longer lead with the 13mm wide red connector on the driver's side for the fog lights but where (and how) do I find the other end of it? And what are the shorter leads with wider plugs for? They appear to be the length for the grills just under the headlights.

My friendly Fiat dealer says the parts required are:

 • 51858824 FOG LAMP 48.98inc vat each
 • 1383157080 LOOM 13.74inc vat each
 • 735586079 SWITCH UNIT 37.32inc vat
This is 1383157080 with its connectors:

1383157080.jpg1383157080 yellow plug.jpg1383157080 4-wire socket.jpg

If 1383157080 is the right part does the 17mm wide yellow connector fit into the fog lamp? Is there a male to male connector to connect the 4-wire end to the short leads in the van's wiring loom? Or does the 13mm wide red connector on the van's loom connect to the fog light?

So my questions:

 1. Which of the connectors on the van's wiring loom is for the fog lights?
 2. Which connector fits into the 51858824 fog light? The 13mm wide red connector on the van's wiring loom or the 17mm wide yellow connector on 1383157080?
 3. How do I connect the van's wiring loom to the fog light relay?
 4. How to remove and replace the switch unit?

The switch block just clips out. Put a trim removal tool in the top edge and lever it out the bottom edge has two lugs that clip into the dash. Multi pin plug on the back of the switch block on a cam type lever. New fog light switch has the same number of pins on it.
