Engine and gearbox are out so its time to replace the steering rack. looking for any/all tips or shortcuts as to the removal of the complete unit from a 2011 X250 van all the bolts are out and the steering column is removed and it wont slide out ,time for the second carton Cheers Adam

I know this post is from years ago but in case anyone is researching Ducato X250 (and 290 I believe) steering rack removal, this might help:
The factory manual says remove the anti-roll bar completely, disconnect steering column and high pressure fluid connector (the lower one on the top part of the rack). Disconnect exhaust flexi joint at both ends. Once the track rods and top electrical connector are disconnected and the fluid is drained the manual says ‘carefully remove steering rack’.
I couldn’t manipulate the rack out between the front crossmember and bulkhead. I had to resort to lowering the crossmember to provide a bit more space.
