I have a 2.8 idtd and have just replaced the cam belt. when i started it up i got a large white cloud then slow revs sounding like 2 or 3 cylinders. then it died. i checked the belt, good, i then checked the crank 2 turns and could feel 4 compressions. while i was under i noticed what looked like an actuater on the end of the pump and an electrical connecter hanging loose. also a lot of diesel / oil . i started again and now runs as it should but when i gas it i gets that white cloud and it wont rev much. i tried 3 times and all the same, im thinking (hoping) the actuater is at fault. any ideas?
