hi the gear change is rather stiff on my ducato.
going into 1st i find it easier to select 2nd & then go into 1st.
also i find it hard to select reverse.
tried oiling the cables.
is there an adjustment on the cables somewhere ?

I am having similar problems with reverse being tight on my 2011 model, would this pivot be the same on my van?

There is a similar pivot on the six speed gearbox but as it isn't 'lubricated' by the scuttle drain its not prone to seizing.

I took mine off to grease it 'just in case' as this had made a huge difference on my 244 van and the shaft assembly fell to pieces so beware if you do it...best just to dribble some oil on it

I had the same problem, sprayed release oil on the linkage and has worked fine ever since, good luck
