Hi guys,
First of all I do understand that some Ducatos have tapered roller bearings and some have the cylindrical type, which as far as I can gather depends on the date of manufacture, model type, and whether front or rear application.

I'm particularly interested in establishing the correct hub torque of the cylindrical bearings (not tapered) which seem to be particularly prone to failure on the front wheels of Ducatos. From what I can glean from the Forum the actual torque then depends and varies on the size of the hub nut fitted, which again I'm guessing is dependent on perhaps axle weight or model variant.

I have established that the 28mm nut requires torque 343nm to 378nm., the 33mm nut requires 390nm to 428nm., but I can't find a definative answer for the 50mm nut which I have fitted to my 244X motorhome.
I have completed the change of bearing succesfully (that's another story!), and now all working smoothly, but the best answer I have able to get so far as to the correct torque is "FT" !!!!

So, anyone know the correct torque for the 50mm hub nut please?
Cheers, MICK

M28 and M33 are the thread sizes not the nut size. I assume the 50mm nut is M33 thread.

Thanks ecunotemu. I've fully understood your reply and I see that I've slightly come in "from the wrong angle" on this as you might say. All I really know is that the nut is 50mm and I didn't take note of the thread size at the time I had it apart I'm afraid. I did get the torque double checked by a garage so I'm perfectly happy about it, but was really only asking to get a more precise torque setting just for the record.
Thanks ever so for your reply, cheers.
P.S. I expect the offside front bearing will go sometime in the future before I've finished with this motorhome, so I'll look then, but I'm happy all is secure for now. !!!
