I have a 2015 Adria Twin SP, based on the X290 Ducato 6m panel van. I want to fit a rear-view camera and monitor, preferably using the existing pre-wiring provided by Fiat. I shall be fitting a 7" dashboard monitor and a single 70 degree camera from parkingcameras.com for rear traffic vision only (reversing for me isn't a problem). To save me too much exploratory stripping-out can anyone who has fitted a camera/monitor to a pre-wired Ducato/Boxer/Relay advise: -

a) does the monitor-end of the loom emerge by the radio or by the rear view mirror?

b) Does the prewiring use standard 4 pin screw connectors or something else entirely bespoke to the Sevel chassis?

c) If I have to run new cabling, which is the best route from the bottom of the rear door pillars to the monitor (internal or external)?

Thanks

How did you get on with this Muffy? I'm in a similar position, 2015 SP600 trying to figure best solution for rear view camera. Was the prewiring by the rear view mirror?

I was considering an integrated brake light camera to avoid drilling holes:

Anyone know if they are any good?

Hello! I mounted a rear view cam on top brake light and on my Adria Twin 2012, IT was Two screened cables running from there
Down to below the radio console.

Sorry for My spelling....

Conny

Thanks Conny.
I'm still searching and have yet to find the cable - although at the moment I've only been digging around in the radio console area. I will remove the panels surrounding my rear brake light cluster at the weekend and see what I find!
I am starting to wonder if the pre-wiring is an option on the LHD spec x290's...

hi, not all vans have this wiring for the camera. I have hunted high and low for weeks for the said wires with know joy. in the end I fitted a kenwood camera just near the high level brake light and fitted a kenwood dab radio with reversing camera fitting. the wire runs are a pain but its all good in the end. michael

Hello.
Did you installed the rear camera?
I've bought a camper based on X290. Yesterday a took off the third brake light, and there is a free connector (4pin) with 3 wires. Do you know if this connector is for a camera?
Regards,
Patricio

Hello.

Yesterday i remove the third rear brake light. It has a spare 4 pin connector, with 3 wires connected.
Is this connector for the rear camera?

I have recently taken delivery of my 2019 Adria Twin 600 (RHD) and located the camera prewiring cable behind the rear high stop lamp. The front connector was coiled up in the battery compartment in front of the front passenger seat.
I also found solar prewiring behind the left hand removable panel at the rear of the wardrobe. The other nearby adjacent removable cover looks like the area to possibly run the solar panel cable through the roof, but not sure at this stage.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Hi Aussiejohn,
My son and I are looking at fitting a reversing camera to a van the same as yours and would appreciate your help.
Did you fit a reversing/rear monitor camera?
If so 1) Is it a reversing/rear monitor camera?
2) Were you able to use the original audio system screen? Or does it have a seperate screen?
3) Are you able to provide the name of the system?
4) Do you have any other advice?
Many thanks
Turratwo

Hi Turratwo,

Just wondering if you managed to get any answers to your question. We'll be taking delivery of an Adria Twin 600 in a short while and I'd like to add a reversing camera. I've also read somewhere that the van is not just wired for a reversing camera, but also solar panels. Again I'd be interested if you can add anything. Thanks, Adrian:):)
