Can anyone please advise as how to remove the heater assembly to replace the heater matrix. I have a 2003 hymer 644 motorhome and after tracing the leak on the rubber mat to a leaking heater matrix tried removing it.
I have removed all the various bits of trim to leave the basic plastic frame of the dash I have removed all the fixings I can see but as it's a coach built motorhome there's a cover coming out from the windscreen that fixes down on the leading edge of the dash top.

I have removed the pipes and cover engine side and the three silver bolts from inside the heater box is floating about half an inch in all directions but won't drop down.

It seems as if the van has been built around the heater box !!!!!!!!

Can anyone advise as this has men ready to jump off the roof

Even if anyone can post a picture of the leading edge next to the screen to try and work out how many bolts are left holding the dash in.

hi
Do you need to remove dash to get the heater blower fan/motor out ?
I have hymer motorhome that melted the blower fuse and melted a hole in the housing area just at the resister location. The resister itself looks ok but I guess you can't tell by looking. None of the fan positions work so think it is maybe
a. fan motor seized.
b. resister fault
c. cheap chinese 30 amp fuse
d. faulty wiring
e. faulty fan switch

There is also climate control which has a button on dash that had no cover and sometimes it was ? in the 'on' position.
My heid is buzzing and having no technical know how its a major problem trying to work out how to at least get the fan motor out.
The pics show damage to housing......the damaged fuse in box is the one on the right hand side at the end which I had to pick out all the melted remains of fuse.
I think I will bypass that fuse with an in-line one.
