Morning everyone,

I hope someone can shed a little light on a problem I have with my 04 Ducato SWB 2.0.

I am having issues with the central locking not working correctly. The front 2 doors open and close fine using the key in the drivers door. However the side and rear doors will not lock or unlock using the key anymore, they did however used to work a few weeks ago. I have to now climb into the back to manually pop the pins up and down (luckily I have 2 single front seats).

A couple of things to mention, the van doesnt have remote central locking, and all but the drivers door barrel locks have security plates over them.

Has anyone had similiar issues?

Thanks
Chris

Door contact on sliding door is probably broken. Look at the bottom of the door. Rear door is lightly to be cracked where the wire flexes in the pillar but with security plates the locks may have been damaged by a chav with a screwdriver in its previous life.

ecunotemu - Thanks for you reply. I will have a look into the contact on the sliding door. It has worked on and off recently. Also, I have adjusted the alignment of the door slightly - however it has worked after this. Could that be a problem?

The rear door baffles me as that has worked fine since I've had it up till now.

I'm converting the van into a camper, currently I can live with opening and closing the doors from the inside, however I can see it proving to be an annoyance.

If its intermittent the contacts might just be corroded and need a clean and lubrication but the sheet metal bracket holding the sliding door half is really flimsy so its probably bent out of alignment. Back door you'll have to chase with a multimeter.
