I have a 2004 2.0jtd ducato van, 65ish k ...... AGHHH!!!!
The van suffers from a few issues including brakes and a slow power window and the cooling fans start up for absolutely no reason!! ( probably the fan switch ) but by far the most annoying is that it often wont start. The issue started about a year ago and was intermittant but its got worse.

It started by not firing, although the starter turned as quickly as usual. The glow plug light stayed on. after an hour or so it started. This continued for a while occasionally. I then swapped out the glow plugs... no change. I swapped the glow plug timer / relay..... worked!!! for about 3 weeks.
I had the battery tested, all tests passed with flying colours.

The issue is getting worse and worse, i`m reluctant to go to a garage and pay them god knows how much to diagnose it. The fan switch issue causes the engine warning light to come on but the issue happens when the lights are on or off so is unrelated i think.

I have seen posts about the immobiliser but my lock signal does not stay on.
It is also drinking oil! but doesnt smoke.
