Technical Engine mounting replacement

They are quite simple , make sure you support the engine on a trolley jack, do them one at a time. Its a simple nuts & bolts job. Spare wheel & battery out will give more space ;)

Gareth, Thank you for the quick reply. The n/s looks straight forward but someone said that to do the o/s mounting the master cylinder and brake servo needs to be removed. is right? Do the front springs need to be clamped to stop the body rising as the weight of the engine is taken off? Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to get a clear picture of the procedure

I'll pop over to mine & have a quick look but I doubt the master cylinder will need to come out!
No, the springs will be OK, just support the engine on a jack don't LIFT anything ;)

Just looked on my 2.0 petrol, there's no way the master cylinder has to come out on that! I had a 2.5 diesel before & I know the engine is bigger & squarer but I'd be surprised if it was that big!

Gareth, Thank You:) for your help. The n/s is now done, (Fuel pipe was a bit of a nusisance but overcomable) will attempt the o/s later this week.

Hi Gareth, now completed the o/s engine mount BUT had to remove the brake master cylinder and servo unit to get to the three bolts holding the engine support bar (one towards the o/s and two at the rear of the engine). Just going to bleed the brakes and get things back to normal.

Eww, that's nasty!! That diesel lump is much bigger than the petrol then, glad its done , careful with those bleed nipples, heat is the key !
