The 2.8 JTD has a Timing belt which from memory needs replacing every 120,000Km or five years. You should also replace the two pulleys as well & some say the water pump as well at the same time as it has the belt tensioner as part of the pump.

Both Gates & Dayco sell the complete Timing Belt Kits with pulleys & seals etc, but neither includes the water pump.
