2007 Ducato Motorhome, 22000 miles. When under acceleration excess smoke coming out, no smoke on start up, when running normally smoke coming out of exhaust all the time, although not sure how much as speed of vehicle is making it go away!!!, oil checked and just slightly above max...........Had a conversation with a mech and he states it could be rings or injecters. Vehicle is running ok, power seems ok to me.

Any suggestions ? Thanks

The colour of the smoke is important, as is when the smoke is most prevalent.

If it smokes heavily on acceleration and it's blue-ish it could be oil getting past the piston rings. If it's blue-ish and mostly seen on the over-run (foot off the accelerator) it's most likely valve guide related.
The smoke might be white / grey or black... All have different possible causes.

It is black, it is smoking all the time, more so under acceleration, however with the speed of the vehicle it seems less.

My turbo went black smoke was bellowing out of exhaust drove it home but whilst doing so broke egr valve broke weld on precat clogged both cats up excessive oil in airfilter been nothing but problems all because of a faulty turbo

Just changed the air filter on advice, slightly better, but the one in the photo was "new" 6 WEEKS AGO AND iVE ONY DONE ABOUT 1000 MILES

Just to bring this thread to a close, in the end it was a EGR Valve causing the problem along with a split hose!!!. All sorted and paid for by the warranty company :)
