Injection System Failure (Amber) warning light occasionally comes on - for the last 18 months! (2007 motorhome on Ducato 130 Multijet 2.2 turbo diesel.) Normally no loss of power but has, occcasionally, had reduced power and even "missing". Haynes in Maidstone ripped me off £90 to read the fault log in the engine management computer and replace a vacuum tube between the vacuum control solenoid valve and the EGR - but this did not cure it! I suspect it could be the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Valve sticking. Any ideas how I can tell if it really *is* the EGR? It's driving me nuts:bang:

Problems with EGR valves are well known especially when they clag up with short runs,
Very easy the remove & clean with carb cleaner or alike
Try disconnecting the vacuum pipe to the valve & blocking the hose with a M6 bolt
See if the problem changes after a run

Thanks for the reply - but which end of the hose are you suggesting I block? (i.e. do I pull off the end at the EGR Valve or the end at the Solenoid Valve that regulates the vacuum (to control the EGR valve)?

What causes the warning light to come on - is there a sensor somewhere or is it the engine management computer?
