fiat ducato immobiliser

I have a fiat ducato based campervan.
The keycode light does not go out even with all my keys.
I suspect the immobiliser or a loose wire.
Fiat want to charge me 100 + VAT to remove the immobiliser.
I'm not keen as this will leave me unprotected.
Alternatively, does anyone know how to remove the immobiliser?
