My battery was on its way out (jump starting it every day for 2 weeks), so i bought a new one. I put it in and it just wouldent start, absolutley nothing all would happen is you would hear the starter turning over but not firing up.

What i noticed was the heating coil light on the dash only came on for a few seconds at a time and then went out and never came back on. Which makes me think after some research that its the heater relay/timer.

I tryed to bleed the injectors to make sure its getting fuel through and no fuel was coming out the injectors when i was turning the engine which makes me think its the keycode/immobiliser as i think it cuts the fuel pump out.

I think its just funny that the day before i changed the battery i had the van out for around 50 miles driving perfect and parked up fine, which makes me think its one of the above.

P.S. could jumping it as much fried the heater relay?

Any hints would be great!

thanks, matt.

Is that 2.8 d td or jtd. Most lightly thing is you've knocked the inertia sensor behind the battery off.

Jtd Is Turbo

Push the button on the bottom of the inertia switch first. Its the black box fixed to the firewall behind the battery. Has a rubbery cover on the bottom switch is inside so press up the rubbery part

Is immobilser light going off?

ohh right, its the non turbo one! :)

the only light i can see thats on is the key code, no immob light. what does the switch look like?

thanks for the help

key light is the immobiliser it should go off shortly after the key is turned to the first poition, if not you have an immobiliser issue, key and immobiliser can get out of sync when you're trying to start with a flat battery due to brown out.

turns out it was the switch id knocked, you were right!

thanks for the help

Nice one. Manys the van has been sold for scrap because of the inertia switch and pump solenoid.
