Im hoping someone could help here.

Im looking to see if i can get a diagnostic scanner for my Ducato. But i want it to read other vans and cars as well so i can use it in the future if i change vans or buy another car. So hence me not going down the fiatecuscan route.

Seen lots on EBay but some say they don't do vans. Was just wondering if anyone on here who has one could help point me in the right direction.

Thanks

kkl cable + free version of ecuscan will do the van for less than a tenner you've probably spent that in coffee just thinking about it.

If you want a cheapie generic thing to go with that a bluetooth elm device is handy as you can use it with your phone / tablet too.

If you want more serious diagnostics there is a ton of chinese knock offs of the professional gear. I've used greebid as a reliable supplier:http://www.greebid.com/

Thanks

Just want one that reads the codes and cant reset the ECU and EML really.. nothing too flash, just something to reset stuff and point me in the right direction rather than having to go to the garage everytime something happens..

Hence me wanting something that can read cars and vans.. that way i can read my car and van without having to buy or get different software and cables..

The elm interface should work with fiatecu scan too, there have a been a few buggy versions that you need to remove a resistor from for CAN bus. Check the forum over there. I paid about 11 euro for mine a few years ago and it works perfectly but like everything from china its a lottery.

If you want something you can actually phone someone up for help with then an obdkey http://www.obdkey.com/obd_orders.asp might be a better if somewhat more expensive option.

If you go with the elm interface then proscan and scanmaster are the best softwares to go with that for generic obd stuff, you'll probably get a dodgy copy on the disk from the chinese. Proscan is $60 to buy scanmaster is 75 euro. If you have an android phone or tablet torque is also good but limited although with jiggery pokery you can add additional parameters.
