Hi All,


When travelling at about 60-65 in top gear and I put my foot down or drop a gear whilst going up a hill, the engine sounds noisy, as though the exhaust is blowing on the near side behind the cab. If however I run the engine whilst static and rev the engine I do not get the same noise. Any ideas please?

Check the hose to the turbo. They can come loose or it may have a split in it.

If you get under from the front and look up at the far side of the engine, you should see it. To be honest, I would not mess about and just let a mechanic sort it out as it could be a number of things causing the problem. The wastegate sticking is another common problem and you cannot fix that yourself if you are not mechanically minded.

I actually had a look under the side where I thought the noise was and discovered a 1.5" hole in the exhaust near to the silencer. I've had a quote for a custom made stainless steel exhaust for £399.00.:worship:
