I have a brake vacuum pump problem on my 1999 Ducato Carioca Ci 1.9 TD. I almost had to stand on the brake to stop the van last week, and the mechanic is recommending replacing both the vacuum pump and the Camshaft.
The engine is running OK but the end of the Camshaft is attached to the vacuum pump and it is worn which is why it also needs to be replaced as well as the vacuum pump, according to the mechanic.
Has anyone had similar issues with a Ducato, or can anyone recommend a breakers yard or similar source for secondhand replacement parts in Ireland/UK?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
