:cool:Hello,

Last fall I bough a Granduca 67 motorhome which is Fiat Ducato id TD 2.8 based. In the process of renowating and upgrading it I have managed to get my hands on a perfectly working Vdo Dayton MS 5000 navigation PC.
The installation is almost complete and all the wires are connected besides two (a common problem it seems):

1) Speed pulse - I understand that probably the best spot to pickup the signal would be behind the instruments panel but unfortunately I have difficulties in accessing it. After unscrewing it it won't come out and I'm afraid on pulling it to avoid snapping cables/wires. I have sought an easy way to remove the entire dashboard but it seems an awful lot of work for just one wire. I can access all the wire looms under it and are quite confident with splicing but need indication on which one may be the correct one. Unfortunately seems like this model is not covered in the manuals available.

2) Reversing light - this one is actually not essential but I'd like to have a complete installation :) I understand that this light is switched from the engine bay, can anyone advise which wire to pickup for the signal? As I'm also mounting an audio system, rear view cameras and CB I have everything opened up to pass the cables so no problems with accessing any wiring

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have surfed the web far and wide but found no precise indication where to look

I'm looking for the exact same.

Fitted a Pioneer Avic X1R and it requires a speed pulse and reverse signal. at the moment it works without but I have a reversing camera plugged into the Avic and without the reverse signal the camera dose not appear.

I'm looking for the easiest place to pick up both of these signals.

Hopefully someone can help :)

If you are looking for a supply that is live when you select reverse probably the easiest place to tap into this is at the reversing light switch on the top of the gearbox. You will need to check which of the two is the switched terminal with a meter.

As for the speed pulse, I *believe* that the 2.8iTD has a speedo cable rather than a sensor and electronic gauge (but check this out on the gearbox)

Speed pulse-It’s on the connectors that fiat provide for van converters, at the bottom of the door pillar right hand side under the plastic trim, it’s pin 3 of the connector.

Don't think that era of van will have speed pulse generator.
I had a 2000 version I fitted a cruise to had to have a separate sensor fitted which plugs into the speedo cable drive outlet and then the cable fits on top of it.
I have a brand new unused one if anyone needs one.
