Hello

Can anyone give me some help to track down a problem that I have with the Lunar MH n/s rear brake light - twin stop/tail bulb type - replaced - same problem occurs that the n/s stop light is very faint and not as bright as the o/s bulb.

(I have a rear tow bar with electrics that are never used and not checked).

So far I have cleaned all the rear light assembly connections / terminals but had no luck with increasing the n/c brake light brightness.

Any suggestions/ pointers / advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading

Hi.
I think you may have an earth problem, you could try running a separate earth from the light cluster and see if that works.

Hi, cris1117 is probably right. The easiest way to check this is turn tail lights on, if they both go normal brightness, then get someone to apply the brakes. If the earth is at fault, then the tail light on that side will go out when the brake light tries to go. The tail is a lower wattage, so will earth back thru the stop lights to the opposite side earth, but when brakes are applied you are equalising voltage on both inputs, and with no earth the lamp simply won't go.
