Hi - I am a new member and this is my first motorhome. I intend to carry out as much of the servicing of the ducato base vehicle as I can by myself. Can anyone point me in the direction of a workshop manual for a Fiat Ducato 2004 2.8 JTD engine.
Also I need to know the recommended engine oil and coolant type for this vehicle.
Many thanks.

Welcome

The Search this Forum function near the top of this particular Ducato Forum (that is, when you can see the list of threads, not when you are viewing a particular thread) works well.

Your questions have been asked many many times. (y)

Hi & welcome to the forum.
See the previous post on how to extract the ISO from the RAR file then burn it to CD then install it from the there -
https://www.fiatforum.com/ducato/268013-ducato-2-8td-workshop-manual.html
For your 2004 model download the Ducato eLearn 2002-2006 Workshop Manual from the Fiat Forum downloads page as in previous above post which will open in a new window & take you to rapidshare , choose the Free Account & the "I want to wait" button below then wait till the red counter counts down to zero then press download button & wait till the save window appears & save the RAR file to your computer.
Then follow the instructions in the above thread to extract & burn to CD & install on your system etc.
RE; service history for your vehicle, the first thing I would be checking is if & when the Timing Belt has been changed as the 2.8 JTD is an interference engine meaning if the belt breaks - very expensive. If not supplied with the vehicle you can also download the Owners manual from the downloads section https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=141as well as the CD radio manual https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=142 both found on the 2nd downloads page.
Fiat uses/recommends Selena Turbo Diesel 15W/40 for the engine oil (although I use Urania Turbo LD 15W/40) & Paraflu 11 for the coolant see previous post on changing coolant - https://www.fiatforum.com/ducato/270410-draining-water-system.html but any good quality oil or coolant with the same specifications would do.
Cheers (y)

Re: Ducato 2.8JTD 2004 Motorhome radio removal

Dear All,

Ant pictures/diagrams of how to remove the factory fitted radio/CD player? Have tried four prongs and the lugs at the bottom all to no avail?

Thanks

HI I am new to this forum and have downloaded the manual files and got them running but they do not include to 2,8 JTD version just 2.2 2.3 and 3.0 , so are these the correct files for that model, obviously not. Any clues anyone?

Quote from my previous post - 15/01/13 "Ducato wiring Diagram ?"

"Hi
Here is a link to the 02-06 eLearn Workshop Manual for the 244 models -
http://www.filefactory.com/file/5st...le_Tecnico_D_officina_-_Fiat_Ducato_02-06.rar Go to the bottom of the page & select Download from "Slow Download" then go from there after the countdown completes.
It is an CD ISO image compressed in a RAR file so you will need Winrar to uncompress the file (free on the net) which will give you an ISO image which you then burn to a CD (as an image) using Nero or similar program. Then insert the CD in the drive & it should auto start the installation on your computer. Just follow the prompts, when finished there should be an eLearn icon on your desktop to start the program but the CD has to be in the drive when using the program. When you start the program select the language in the top left - english then select the engine size. Then click on the Blue Ducato van at the top & select from the menu on the left.
Hope that helps
Cheers "

Just as a matter of interest the Elearn programme sometimes has problems displaying electrical diagrams and some technical drawings which show up as a red x in the diagram box rather than the actual drawing. This is apparently due to it using an early version of Internet Explorer (around when the elearn programme was published).
After a lot of playing around with it I finally got it to display the diagrams in vista and windows 7 by running it in a 'sandboxed' programme (free from sandboxie.com) and making sure you have adobe DWG viewer installed as well (this should install when you load elearn).
Basically by running it in sandbox you prevent it from interacting with other programmes installed particularly web browsers.
Some bits still don't display properly but all the electrical diagrams do!
Hope this helps if you keep getting blank boxes.
