excuse the description, but that best describes it....

New 2011 Motorhome on the Fiat Ducato Chassis, 160 Multi-jet Power.

From day one, at 2000-2500rpm in 4th / 5th / 6th gears there's an obvious "cough" from the engine. From my limited (very) technical knowledge this sounds like a fuelling issue. Vehicle has now been driven around 500 miles and re-fueled. There appears to be no loss of power and the issue is only noticable when the engine is cruising, if under load it's not noticable.

Has anyone else come across this issue on the Ducato engine ??

My personal opinion is that having spent all your hard earnt cash on a wonderful brand new motorhome, if you're not happy, then take it straight back to the company you purchased it from and tell them so. It's not really your problem, it's theirs !

Yes, like it's been back twice now, so let's not go there !!! As many motorhome owners will confirm, few dealers have the facility for engine and mechanical issues referring instead to Fiat Dealers, of which many don't have the equipment for a 5 ton motorhome.

So, before we start running around the country sourcing commercial dealers is there anyone experiencing a similar issue with the Ducato engine ?

has the engine light ever been on or have you had the error codes read?
