Hi All,

Can someone clarify something for me I have a X250 2.3 multijet camper. The switches in the centre of dashboard for rear fogs heated mirrors etc are they removable? the 2 blanks are they removable and if so how? I have tried gentle persuasion with a small screw driver to no avail.

Thanks

Stewart

- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
1. Undo the fixing bolt (1a) for the switch unit in the dashboard (1b) and release the latter from its housing.
1. Release the switch unit in the dashboard from its housing and disconnect the electrical connections from the front cigar lighter housing (1a), from the front current socket (1b) and from the upper centre control panel in the dashboard (1c).
2. Remove the switch unit from the dashboard of the vehicle
From the look of it -has clips besides the "retaining bolt".

I assume with it out of the dash itself, you can see better as to how the switches & blanks can then be removed. Although looking at that diagram it looks like a complete assembly which when separated from the housing it then itself has to be opened???
Cheers

Hi Freespirit,

Thanks very much for the excellent reply. I have the intention of adding a radio switch into one of the blanks so I can play the radio/CD when on site.

Thanks
Stewart

Because the radio is wired through the ignition switch and it would soon flat the vehicle battery. Which is why its wired via the habitation battery with a seperate switch.

Nothing like waking an old thread! Stewart were you able to use the dashboard switches in the end or was it a sealed unit type?
