My transmission from motorhome of
Fiat Ducato (Granduca Autoroller1) 2.5 tdi 1997 ZFA230000 05438535 broke.

I haven't found just that transmission from Finland or Sweden and I'm still looking for used one.

But what transmissions will be possible to fit in this engine.

I have found for example
Peugeot Boxer BSA 2.5tdi 1999 transmission
Fiat Ducato 2.5 TD 1996 transmission
Fiat Ducato 1.9 TD 2000 transmission
Fiat Ducato 2.0 bensin 5DR BUS 2,0 5VX 20KE14 23000005474411
Fiat 2.8 JTD-MAXI-230CPMNC1/37 ZFA230000 06219277
Fiat Ducato 2.8 I.D.TD MAXI 1998

There is no markings or plate in the current broken transmission as it probably has fell of at some point. I haven't found place to look with serial numbers that what will fit.

Could someone say will the Peugot transmission fit or what will definetly not fit in that?

How about Peugeot Boxer 2.5TD compared to Ducato 2.5TD and TDi?

There are approx 16 or 17 variations of transmission for the 2.5 liter engines thats why people are reticent to offer advice. I checked your vin number with fiat parts.

Your transmission is fiat part number: 9566759280

The transmissions are different according to the load capacity of the vehicle yours is 14Q (14 quintals = 1400kg) the donor van should be the same.

IF the 1996 ducato is 1400kg van also then it should be compatible. Your eyeball is the best judge.

As far as I can remember the turbo models all share the same gear ratios so a box from a 2.8idtd should be the same. The only unique gearbox in the 94 to 02 range is the 2.8 non turbo, thats why it is a pain to find a good second hand one!

The crankshaft and flywheel from the 2.8 are different so I didn't think a 2.8 box would fit. The driveshafts are the same though so at that rate anything will fit :p

The 2.8 non turbo uses the 1.9 shafts and the gearbox looks very like the 1.9 I wonder are they swapable.

Peugot transmission or Fiat transmission are good if they are the same with the load capacity of your vehicle.
